Ladies Group

This group is both welcoming and flexible, with everyone feeling at home.
If you have not yet been or not managed to come for a while, look out for the up and coming dates in the weekly notice sheet.
We meet on a six-weekly basis at different venues with no fixed evening and are constantly grateful to our hostesses who always make us feel welcome (Maria, Sue & Lesley, you are wonderful, thank you). Our evenings begin with drinks and snacks and a time to catch up with each other.
The aim of the group is to get to know one another better and to encourage each other in our Christian Walk. This happens in a relaxed atmosphere (with much laughter) when we usually share a passage of scripture together. These times are a great blessing to us as they stimulate our thoughts and conversations, generating an openness and desire to grow in our relationship with each other and with God.
Early in 2007 some of us enjoyed a weekend away attending the 'Cherish' ladies conference at The Abundant Life Church in Bradford. The subject for the weekend was 'Once Upon a Time'. There were many challenging talks during the weekend. We were particularly impressed with their work in the local community with the underprivileged and single pregnant mums and also with Compassion, an organisation that sponsors children overseas. The latter prompting some of us to sponsor a child.
Most recently we looked at 'Exploring our Motivational Gifts' discovering what actually energises us and how we function best, particularly in a church context. This has given us much to think and pray about.
