Minister: Rev Dr Anthony Thacker
I was born in Leicester, and my formative years spiritually were in Kirby Muxloe – both in the local Crusaders and in the Free Church.
Half way through my time in Cambridge, where I studied Theology, God called me to the Ministry, and I trained in Regent’s Park College, Oxford, where I also studied theologian Karl Barth on the resurrection.
Previously, I have served as minister of Calvary Baptist, Treforest, South Wales (1980-3), Oadby Baptist (1983-2006) and concurrently Billesdon Baptist (1983-2002).
My interests include astronomy and science fiction, reflected in my two books on that theme, including Behind the Sofa (a 2006 book on Doctor Who), and music.
