FRNCC Parent's Letter
January 2008
Dear Parents/Guardians
FRIDAY NIGHT CYBER CAFÉ (FRNCC)
As you are aware your child attends our Friday Night Cyber Cafe at the above church., which runs from 7 – 9pm for all young people aged 11 – 18.
During their time with us the young people have the opportunity to play games, football, unihoc, table tennis, snooker, pool, watch television, use the playstations or Cyber facilities. We also sell sweets and cans in our tuck shop. Any games that the young people play on the playstations or computers are classified up to age 15 and we would assure you that no 18 videos or games are allowed and we do vet any music that is brought onto the premises. We do make a small charge of 50p per young person to help cover costs and equipment repairs.
There are several helpers attending throughout the evening, who have been CRB checked. They are as follows:
Elaine Stock (Chair) John Raven
Paul Dexter (Treasurer) Sue and Kingsley Bates (Secretary)
Paul Hurst Lesley Muggleton
Laura Pratt (Youth worker)
Please feel free to pop in and see us at any time.
We do have basic rules established which are:
no smoking or taking of any substances
no leaving of premises unless to go home
no abuse of equipment or any person at the youth club
no bad language.
From this we do operate a system, whereby if rules are not adhered to then a 2 weeks ban is put into place. Continual defiance of the rules will result in a series of longer bans leading to permanent exclusion. If, however a young person is found to be taking or possessing any substances we will contact you immediately and inform the police.
Finally I would like to point out that we do operate a Safe to Grow Policy within our youth group. We have a child protection procedure which would be followed if the need arises and fire and first aid procedures are also in operation. Once the young people are on the premises we expect them to stay on the premises until their time at youth club has finished. We would then expect parents of the young people to collect them or make arrangements for them to get home safely.
We would advise you that once the young people leave our premises we are not responsible for their well-being.
In addition, although we take every care to ensure that belongings are safe, we do not take responsibility for any lost or damaged belongings.
We do hope that you understand our reasons for introducing the above, in our aim to ensure that the youth club runs as smoothly and enjoyable for all concerned.
If you do have any queries or concerns please do not hesitate to contact me or any member of the team on a Friday night or contact the church office on 890026.
Yours sincerely
Elaine Stock
