Youth

Picture of young girlYouth Work is an integral and valued part of HBC. It is seen as part of the church family and of the church today. Although it is often said that the youth are our future, we firmly believe that they are also part of the church today and that each of them is a valued member of the church family whatever their age.

The main ethos behind Youth Work at HBC is:

'To show Jesus Christ to children and young people in a meaningful and relevant way and to support through our youth work the church's Mission Statement of 'a church listening to God's Word, living according to God's Word and doing His will within the community.'

Our aims are as follows:

We have seen God work in a variety of exciting ways through our young people. They are encouraged to take part in Services and a number of the young people have taken part in short-term missions both in the UK and overseas. This has not only enriched their lives but that of the church. It has been an encouragement when hearing about their experiences.

We take the business of caring for our youth very seriously and have put together various policies designed to protect both children and the leaders who work with them. Every youth worker is issued with a Youth Pack containing policies, procedures and good practice guidelines, along with information on all youth activities within the church.
